November is for nurturing

Our
Our "grandy" Bandit with joy on full display

Dear friends,

This month let's nurture the people, experiences, and things that bring us joy, contentment, peace, and grounding. Let's continue to remind ourselves to slow down, be grateful, notice the spectacular color show mother nature is putting on for us and revel in the leaves that fall around us like confetti on on our walks. Breathe in and feel the chill in the air, exhale and remember that sense of awe we felt as kids when we learned that we could see our breath on cold winter days. Make a list of joys and quiet moments you'll seek out this month. Make time for your yoga and meditation practice. November is for nurturing--yourself, your loved ones, your community, and our very needy world. Yes, the world feels heavy. That's why we must do the things that make us SHIMMER and SHINE! That's how we make the world brighter.

My List of November Joys

  • walking in nature with my husband
  • visiting dear friends in Maine
  • exercising my civic right to vote
  • watching the high school football team that our son Henry coaches in Michigan compete in the playoffs on Friday nights via the magic of technology
  • welcoming Jake, Henry and our future daughter-in-law Marlee home for Thanksgiving
  • practicing yoga
  • exercising early in the morning with friends
  • reading quietly
  • taking care of Bandit, our "grandy" pictured above
  • feeling the excitement as we put the last plans in place for Henry and Marlee's upcoming wedding
  • making a special gift
  • helping my community by collecting food, clothing, and diapers/wipes etc.
  • sharing time with family and friends around the fire pit on beautiful starlit evenings
  • cooking (soups!), eating, drinking, laughing and savoring
  • remembering that life is beautiful and fleeting and I don't want to miss a moment of it.

Tell me, what's on your list?

With love and deep gratitude,

Kate
